St Bernadette Parish!
On June 23, 1959, The Holy Name Society was established by the men of the parish. Soon thereafter the Parishioners organized a picnic at Birch Taylor Park at which 500 attended. In time, the Holy Name society formed the Men's club which has engaged itself in practically every parish activity. On May 14, 1959, 17 acres were designated by Archbishop Carroll to be the site of St Bernadette Church. Father Hostler offered the first services in the new Church on Holy Thursday, March 30, 1961. As the Church community began to grow, cost began to increase. The parish found it imperative to organize several fund raising activities, the most notable of which has been ever since the Parish Festival.
